on account of construction work at stadelhoferplatz, forchbahn had to be turned just short of this location in kreuzstrasse between 11th july and 16th august 2009. for this purpose a temporary turnout was layed on the road surface. i believe the official term for such an arrangement is california switch.

on account of construction work at stadelhoferplatz, forchbahn had to be turned just short of this location in kreuzstrasse between 11th july and 16th august 2009. for this purpose a temporary turnout was layed on the road surface. note that the forchbahn train also carries the route number 11. for the duration of the works, the forchbahn served all stops along the route, thus temporarily replacing tram route 11.

25th april 2007. until not very long ago, a dense network of sidings criss-crossed the industrial area of zürich west. much of the industry has since given way to residential usage, but in places interesting elements of trackwork remain, albeit mostly disused. note the narrow gauge turntables set within the standard gauge track!

on the 8th february 1999 heavy snowfall hit zürich. road transport practically ceased to exist, and even the trams had to struggle. here 2086 + 2315 are at bahnhofstrasse amidst the turmoil of the track renewal works. these units carry a special livery advertising the opening of route 11's extension to messe the previous september.

on the 8th february 1999 heavy snowfall hit zürich. road transport practically ceased to exist, and even the trams had to struggle. here 2086 + 2315 have just unloaded passengers at bahnhofstrasse during the evening peak. the stop had been temporarily relocated to here from it's normal position due to track renewal work. these trams carry a special livery advertising the opening of route 11's extension to messe the previous september.
