click to reduce size

22nd September 2007

Every year, at the household fair Züspa, the tram enthusiast society, Aktion Pro Sächsitram, operates a public service between Hauptbahnhof and the fair, which is held in Oerlikon. Here Museum cars 1392 and 732 are seen entering Bahnhofquai, having just turned using the Neumühlequai loop.

These vehicles are from the 1940s and 1950s and the type survived in service until the mid 1990s. Some trailers survived until 2004. Today (Septmeber 2007), several of the type are still in use in North Korea.

The large domed building in the far background of this picture is the University of Zürich.
